It has been about a month since the Start-Up Workshop. It is time to cycle back to the Challenge Strategist and brief her about progress and difficulties, to solicit and offer advice.
Your Task This Week
Conduct a Progress Review
Your task this week is to conduct a progress review with the Challenge Strategist. Ideally, you will do the briefing jointly with the Team Leader. The purpose of the briefing is to keep the Challenge Strategist engaged. And even if the Team does not need her support, the regular briefing makes it easier to ask for support when it is needed.
If you are doing this with the Team Leader, it is important that the Team Leader takes the lead in reporting out on progress and issues, with you in a support role.
Progress Review Format and Tips
We suggest this easy and fun format to report out on progress at review meetings.
Discussing Team Members with the Challenge Strategist
If a Team member is not pulling their weight on the team, a call from the Challenge Strategist inquiring how they are doing on the Team can create a gentle nudge to get more involved.
If a Team member is going over and above the call of duty, a recognition note or call from the Challenge Strategist could amplify the enthusiasm of the Team member. The note or call from the Challenge Strategist to the supervisor of the Team member could even have a bigger impact.
