Week minus 4 -Building the “Business” Case

Week Minus 4

Preparing to Engage Leadership Stakeholders

Your Mission this week – you will work with the Challenge Strategist to prepare for a critical engagement with leadership stakeholders.

Your goal is to guide them in making two key decisions: The Focus of the 100-Day Challenge and The Membership of the 100-Day Team. To prepare, you will create a shortlist of potential focus areas to present at the session.

Your Tasks This Week

Invite Leaders to a Design Session

Support the Challenge Strategist in convening the right leaders next week. You need to brief them on the 100-Day Challenge and engage them in the decision-making process.

  • Action: Schedule a group meeting, small group sessions, or one-on-one conversations with key stakeholders.

  • Resources: For a list of suggested leaders to engage with, click the button on the right. Also download a draft letter to invite the selected leaders.

Create a Shortlist of Focus Areas

Do not go into the leadership session empty-handed. Before the meeting, collaborate with the Challenge Strategist to develop a curated list of potential “focus areas” for the Challenge.  This will help leadership narrow down the options to a single, high-impact focus area, during the session

  • Action:  Meet with Challenge Strategist and draft the shortlist.

  • Resource: Review the Deep Dive on “Developing a Shortlist of Focus Areas for 100-Day Challenge” to ensure your shortlist is strategic.

Prepare to Facilitate the Session

You are not just attending; you are leading the process. Ideally, you (the Coach) will facilitate these discussions. This frees the Challenge Strategist to participate fully in the debate and gives you valuable practice before the Start-Up Workshop.

  • Tool: Use the customisable slide pack to structure the meeting.

  • Support: If needed, request a World of Impact representative to be “on call” during your meeting to answer technical questions.

  • Preparation Resources:

Review “Sharpening Your Facilitation Skills” to get ready for the room.

Review “Choosing a Focus for the 100-Day Challenge” to help leaders move from the menu of focus areas to the one focus area for the 100-Day Challenge.

Review “Who Should be on the 100-Day Challenge Team?” to guide the selection conversation effectively.
