Week 7 – Getting ready to Facilitate the Refresh Workshop

Week 7

Preparing to Facilitate the Refresh Workshop

The Refresh Workshop is just one week away. Last week, you began the groundwork; this week is about refining your skills and ensuring you are ready to lead the Team through their mid-sprint reflection – and possible pivot. As a Coach, your preparation is the “invisible fuel” that will keep the Team energised during this intensive session.

Your Primary Focus this Week

Your primary focus this week is to master the specific facilitation modules required for the Workshop. These guides are designed to help you navigate the team from reflection to renewed action.

Renew the Commitment to our Goal – Re-igniting the Team’s passion for the 100-Day Goal.

Deep Dive into the Facilitation Toolkit:

Sharpen our 100-Day Plan  – Identifying where the current strategy needs to pivot for maximum impact.

Reflect on the Team Agreement – Ensuring the Team’s “rules of the road” are still supporting collaboration.

Debrief with our Challenge Strategist – Aligning the Team’s findings with leadership expectations.

Naturally, you may want to finish up tasks from last week, if these have not been completed.

Pro Tip: If you feel your facilitation skills are a bit rusty, revisit the Sharpening Your Facilitation Skills “ Deep Dive for a quick refresher on managing group dynamics and keeping conversations productive.

Practice Makes Progress... on your Coaching Journey!

Support and Mentorship

You are not on this journey alone. If any part of the facilitation guides feels unclear, or if you are unsure how to handle a specific Team dynamic, join the “Webinar with the Gurus”. These sessions are an excellent opportunity to ask questions and learn from seasoned practitioners’ experiences.

Confidence is built through rehearsal. To ensure the Workshop runs seamlessly, follow these “practice” steps:

  • Partner with the Team Leader: Go through the slide pack and facilitation guide together to decide who will lead each section. This ensures the Team Leader feels empowered rather than overshadowed.
  • The Troika Consulting Run-Through: Practise the Troika Consulting exercise with colleagues or even family members. Getting comfortable with the instructions now will prevent confusion during the actual workshop.
  • Reflect to Improve: Review your notes and reflections from the Start-Up Workshop. What worked well? What would you do differently this time? Use those insights to tailor the Refresh Workshop to the team’s unique personality.
