Overview of the Refresh Workshop

The Refresh Workshop - Day 50 Momentum Shift

The Refresh Workshop is a high-stakes “pit stop” in the 100-Day Challenge. Held at the midpoint, it is a structured space to re-examine the 100-Day GoalPlan, and Team Agreement through the lens of the first 50 days of implementation.

In the context of social impact work in South Africa, this is where the team moves from “survival mode” into “scaling mode”.

Defining Success: The "Refresh" Standard

Team members are energised for the second part of the 100-Day Challenge, with fresh ideas, more confidence, and new insights on working together in the next 50 days. They are also beginning to think about ways to sustain the gains that will have been made by the end of the 100 days.

At the end of this session, your team should leave with more than just a revised list of tasks. Success looks like:

Renewed Energy

Team members are re-energised for the final 50-day sprint, armed with fresh ideas and insights.

Operational Confidence

A measurable boost in the team’s belief that they can achieve their “unreasonable” goal.

Sustainability Thinking

The team begins to transition from “what are we doing tomorrow?” to “how do we make this permanent?”.

Tangible Outputs

The Revised 100-Day Plan:

An updated roadmap that pivots based on what worked—and what failed—during the first half of the sprint.

The Refined Team Agreement:

A “re-tuned” set of rules that addresses any interpersonal friction or power imbalances uncovered during the initial weeks.

Sustainability Seedlings:

A preliminary list of ideas to ensure the challenge’s impact continues long after Day 100.

Agenda and Core Objectives

The workshop is designed to move the team through a cycle of reflection and action:

Reflection

Objective: Review the data and “Pulse Check” calls from Week 5.

Coach’s Focus: Ask “What did the data tell us that we didn’t expect?”

Recharging

Objective: Celebrate “Bright Spots” and early wins to rebuild morale.

Coach’s Focus: Highlight the 75% that is right.

Pivoting

Objective: Identify the “Bumps on the Track” and adjust the work plan to bypass them.

Coach’s Focus: Encourage “Rapid Innovation” over bureaucratic caution.

Sustainability

Objective: Bring in the Challenge Strategist to discuss scaling the results.

Coach’s Focus: Practice “Power With” leadership.
