Orientation to Senior Leaders
Organising 30-Day Challenges
The purpose of this guide is to prepare you to organise a rapid (30-day) project that aims to improve the way your organisation performs when it comes to the issue of gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF).
Your organisation has already shown its intent to improve its GBVF performance – by asking its staff to fill out the GBVF Health Check. So you already have a general picture of the organisation’s behaviours, practices, and policies.
No matter where your organisation is on its “GBVF maturity journey,” it can continue to improve and become a role model for other organisations. The 30-day project is a simple way to organise this continuous improvement process. We refer to this project as the “GBVF maturity 30-Day GBVF Challenge.” It is modeled after the 100-Day Challenge approach, just simpler and even faster!
This guide will give you as the “Challenge Mentor” an overview of the 100-Day Challenge approach and how it translates into 30-Day Challenges. It will guide you, step by step, to the point where you have (1) a team in your organisation working on making progress on a GBVF-related goal, and (2) a coach who will support this team on a day-to-day basis, with your overall strategic guidance and oversight.
The process you will follow in this 30-Day Challenge can be easily replicated to continue improving your organisation’s GBVF performance. This will also prepare you and others in the organisation to begin using the 100-Day Challenge approach to tackle other issues, including business performance issues.
In the last lesson of the guide, we will share with you how leaders in Government, non-profit organisations, and the private sector used 100-Day Challenge to tackle various performance challenges – beyond GBVF.
The Course is organised into six “Lessons”:
Overview of the 100-Day and 30-Day Challenge approach
“Doing no harm” in GBVF work
Setting the stage for your GBVF 30-Day Challenge
Guiding and supporting the 30-Day Challenge implementation
Amplifying the initial 30-Day Challenge
Using 100-Day Challenges to turbocharge the overall performance of your organisation
