This sets the stage for experiencing self-governance when the team agrees on how they will work together in the next 100-Days. The team also elects a team leader or co-leader(s).

Develop an initial plan that provides the possibility of achieving the 100-Day Goal. Increase the team’s confidence in the possibility of success.

Understanding the process or system, we are trying to impact will help the team understand what the system looks like from start to finish and identify “pain points”

To experience inclusive and consent-based decision-making, the team must agree on their 100-day goal. The more ambitious, the better. Generate excitement as well as some anxiety among team members.. Setting the nearly impossible goal is the inspiration for the innovations in the work plan and begins to pull the group together as a team around a common goal. So it needs to happen before the group decides how they will work together as a team.

Reinforce the team’s sense of pride and excitement about the project. Prepare the Mentors to support the team during the 100 days. Reinforce to both mentors and the team that this will not be business as usual.

To get the team excited and energised, feeling like they are part of a community of pioneers that achieve incredible results. We need to put the team in the mindset of setting nearly impossible goals before we send them off to set their goal.

Help the team to practice the new behaviour of appreciating team members’ contributions, and finish the Lift-off session on a high note.
